What is Henna?

Henna, common name for a shrub & a dye that is obtained from its leaves. The shrub is also called alkanna & mignonette tree grows mainly in Southern Asia. It bears small, fragrant, white or rose colored flowers in clusters. The orange red dye produced from its leaves is used extensively as a rinse to impart reddish color to hair.
